It was a close race, but two-term incumbent Scott Mayor Purvis Morrison, a democrat, lost the mayor seat tonight.
Morrison’s only opponent was republican Jan-Scott Richard, who won 50 percent of the vote.
Incumbent Scott Police Chief Chad Leger won 83 percent of the vote against Brian Harper who received 17 percent.
Leger has been the chief of Scott since 2003. He was re-elected unopposed in 2014.
