Idalia officially made landfall at Keaton Beach, FL as a top-end Category 3 hurricane with wind speeds at 125 mph just before 7:00 a.m. today.

Idalia (ee-DAL-ya) briefly strengthened into a Category 4 Hurricane this morning but weakened slightly back to Category 3 strength before landfall across the Big Bend area of Florida. Idalia continues to weaken as it moves over Georgia and more land. Sustained winds are at 60 mph.

The latest forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center shows Idalia weakening as it continues its track over Georgia and the coast of South Carolina. Fortunately, most models have it heading and staying in the Atlantic in the coming days.
