Shades of Success calendar was created by V-Squared Visuals, a group of African-American journalists who wanted to spotlight black women. This calendar highlights 12 black women from different spheres of influence and their stories. Some of the women featured include: Lafayette's very own Dr. Krystal Shelmire, Valentina Wilson, Terri Porche Ricks and others. V-Squared will also be hosting a Shades of Success Gala on Feb. 25 at the Clarion Inn in Gonzales. It is an opportunity to meet all 12 women in person.
