The second annual Duck Derby will be on April 15 in Moncus Park. This event will help Second Harvest Food Bank feed families suffering from food insecurity. $5 can feed one more four times. Duck Derby is offering several duck adoption packages for a better chance to win the duck race. A single duck is $5. Six ducks is $25. 12 ducks will cost $50. A flock of ducks (25) is a $100 value. Each duck is assigned a unique race number that Lafayette firefighters will drop into Wetland Pond at Moncus Park. Prizes will be awarded to the first ten ducks to cross the finish line with the fastest duck claiming the $5,000 grand prize. Duck entries are still open at no-hunger.org/ducks. Duck Derby will begin at 1 p.m. on April 15 with activities. The duck race will take place at 3 p.m.
