LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)—Police have arrested one in the connection with a shooting which occurred earlier this week, authorities said.
According to a press release, detectives with the Lafayette Police arrested 38-year-old Tohisa Lonzo of Lafayette on August 23.
Lonzo was charged with attempted second-degree murder.
A spokesperson with the Lafayette Police Department said the victim from the shooting is in stable conditions after suffering injuries to the upper body.
On August 21, Lafayette Police responded to a shooting victim on the 100 block of Happiness Street.
Police said the victim stated that he and two females were traveling in a vehicle when a disturbance took place. The disturbance escalated to the point of gunfire inside of the moving vehicle.
According to a news release, the victim said that the two females exited the vehicle and that he drove himself to the 100 block of Happiness Street where police were then notified of the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
