Grand jury indicts 2 for separate Opelousas murders


OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) – Two Opelousas men have been indicted for two separate murders that happened in March 2016, according to District Attorney Earl Taylor.

Taylor announced Friday that Davien Bell, 18, was indicted by the St. Landry Parish Grand Jury Tuesday for the for the first-degree murder of 38-year-old Kevin Roberts on March 19, 2016.

Kenric Castille, 19, was also indicted Tuesday for the first-degree murder of 44-year-old Kenric Castille, on March 29, 2016.

Both men could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

It is unclear if the district attorney will pursue the death penalty in either case.
