LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana baseball team had four members named to the 2018 All-Louisiana Baseball Teams, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced on Saturday evening.

The team was selected by a statewide panel of college baseball sports information directors and media members.

Senior left-hander Colten Schmidt highlighted to honorees as he was named the LSWA Pitcher of the Year. Schmidt is the fourth Louisiana player to claim the honor and first since Zach Osbourne in 2010.

Schmidt was also tabbed to the All-Louisiana First Team. An All-American selection, Schmidt finished the season with a 7-0 record and a league-best 2.45 ERA in 106.1 innings pitched. The La Porte, Texas native posted 90 strikeouts with only nine walks on the year.

Junior Daniel Lahare was selected to the second team as an outfielder after leading the Ragin’ Cajuns with a .321 average and 69 hits. Lahare notched 12 doubles, four triples, four home runs and 21 RBI while scoring a team-best 50 runs and slugged .470.

Pitchers Hogan Harris and Logan Stoelke received honorable mention honors. Harris finished the season with a 5-2 record and a 2.62 ERA in 58.1 innings pitched. Despite missing over a month of the season, Harris struck out 54 in 11 starts.

Stoelke became only the third player in program history to post double-digit saves in a season with 10 in 21 appearances. The right-hander notched a 4-0 record with a 2.97 ERA in 33.1 innings. Stoelke struck out 36 batters and limited opponents to a .165 average.
