Saints QB Drew Brees on Anthony Davis and Zion

Sports

New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees visited Lafayette to promote his flag football league FNA.
In existence for three years in Lafayette, the league has grown steadily in that time.  Brees says there is more than 150 teams in the state, and they are taking this thing nationwide.
Drew spoke to the players about playing more than one sport, and not specilizing in just one, at an early age. He credits Tennis with helping his development as a quarterback.
Eventually, the conversation turned to basketball, more specifically: Pelicans Basketball.  And getting Zion Williamson of Duke in New Orleans…
Brees says, “As long as AD sticks around, we gotta have AD. That’ll be a tough tandem there. If they need a shooting guard, I’ll come out there. Shoot, I’d play with those guys. We’ll suit them up anytime. Red zone specialist. We don’t wanna bang those guys up too much because they have long careers in basketball. I was just thinking a couple of fades, back of the endzone. I think those guys would like jumping up and snatching one up out there. I don’t think there’s many guys that can jump with those guys out there.””
