As a sophomore, Cole Simon feels much more in control of the Blue Gator offense…
He played a lot as a freshman, and that experience has helped him become a key player on the 2018 squad.
His play is a result of his hard work, and his ability to know he can’t win a game by himself. The success he has is a result of the team’s success.
Cole Simon says, “Our line has progressed throughout the year, they have gotten better with their blocks and readying who they are picking up. The wide receiver corp is the same as last year, so we have more experience there. Jaylen has played a lot, last year, and this year. Coach Matt has done a good job of play calling and all the other coaches too!”
Coach Matt Desormeaux sees tremendous growth in Cole’s play. He attributes his better play to experience, which helps open up the playbook, without any pause.
Matt says, ” from week to week he improves. He makes fewer bad decisions to where last year he had a lot of freshman mistakes. We were handcuffed calling plays to protect him. But, this year our playbook is wide open… he keeps excelling, and keeps playing well.”
