UL got off to a fast start, scoring five runs in the first two innings.  Pitcher Nick Lee got the start, but as Coach Tony Robichaux said all week long, they would use a lot of pitchers in this mid-week game vs. the Tulane Green Wave.

In the 3rd inning, Robichaux went to the bullpen. Grant Cox came in and struck out Tulane’s Jonathan Artigues. Cox was one of five pitchers used for the Cajuns on Tuesday.

In the 5th. Ragin Cajun Todd Lott hit a launcher out of the left field stands, hitting a pine tree.

Lott and the Cajuns hold on to win 7-6 over Tulane, sweeping the season series, and getting ready now for the final Sun Belt Series of the Year vs. UL-Monroe.

That series starts on Thursday from the Tigue.

Sophomore Todd Lott’s two-homer night lifted the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team to a 7-6 victory over Tulane on Tuesday night at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park as the squad completed the season series sweep of the Green Wave.

Louisiana took an early lead in the bottom of the first when Lahare scored on a Gillies wild pitch. Tulane got on the board in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run single up the middle by Luke Glancy to cut the lead to 6-2.

The Green Wave made things interesting in the top of the ninth as Trevor Jensen drove a three-run homer to left to cut the Louisiana lead to 7-6, but reliever Logan Stoelke retired the next three batters he faced to close out the game.
Louisiana closes out the regular season with a three-game series against ULM at Russo Park starting Thursday at 6 p.m. Game two between the Cajuns and Warhawks is slated for Friday at 6 p.m. First pitch of the series finale will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
