OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- - In an election shakeup, both the incumbent mayor and police chief of Opelousas lost their seats tonight.
Mayor Reggie Tatum lost to a runoff between Tyrone Glover and Julius Alsandor. Glover got 23 percent of the vote tonight. Alsandor got 23 percent. Tatum trailed in the race at 10 percent.
Seven candidates were vying for the mayoral seat.
Opelousas Police Chief Donald Thompson lost to Martin McLendon and Graig "Twin" LeBlanc in a runoff.
McLendon got 42 percent of the vote. LeBlanc got 26 percent. Thompson got 21 percent of the vote.
Four candidates were running for the race.
