UPDATE: Duson Police on scene of major crash

DUSON, La. (KLFY) – Duson Police have determined that 43 year old Jason Murray of Lafayette failed to recognize that vehicles ahead of his in the south bound lane were traveling slower and he struck a passenger car from the rear.

That car struck a pickup truck also traveling south on LA Hwy 95, and Murray’s vehicle drifted left of center and struck a north bound semi-truck. 

Murray was not injured.  His blood alcohol level was .220 grams percent. 

Murray will be booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with OWI Second Offense, Careless Operation with an Accident and 3 counts of negligent vehicle injuring.

Duson Police are currently on the scene of a major crash that set three people to the hospital with injuries.

It happened on Mire Highway near the I-10 Interchange.

The crash involved three vehicles and an 18-wheeler.

Police have one person in custody, suspected of drunk driving.
