Louisiana State Police, Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating after human remains were found in an open shed.

The Sheriff’s Office says a local volunteer team search member found the remains, a skull, on Saturday in a shed on Prairie Rhonde Road in Prairie Rhonde.

Multiple search teams were out for over 36 hours searching for 9-year-old Bryson Thibodeaux who went missing Friday. Bryson was located before dawn Sunday.  His parents were then arrested on cruelty to juvenile charges.

Sheriff officials say they secured the scene until the LSU Forensic Anthropology and
Computer Enhancement Services arrived on Sunday when the skull and other remains were taken away for further analysis.

Anyone who may have any information in reference to the remains located should contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 337-363-2161.
