Students at Port Barre High School were evacuated Wednesday morning following a bomb threat.
Police say the students were evacuated to two separate locations while police bomb detecting K9s searched the school.
Police say the handwritten “bomb threat” note was found on a bathroom wall.
According to Boudreaux, the search resulted in an “all clear” and the students and faculty returned to campus to finish their day.
As a result of the threat, Boudreaux said roads were blocked, police and fire emergency lines were over loaded with callers, and police from surrounding agencies had to put their normal duties aside to assist the Port Barre police, as students were bussed to other locations in town.
He said detectives are investigating this incident and charges will be filed when the suspect is located.
