On Newsfeed Now for March 19, guest host Susanne Brunner was in again for Aaron Nolan and got the ball rolling with March Madness! With all the money that is made in the tournament, there’s talk on Capitol Hill that players should also get some of the cash. Our Washington Correspondent Brie Jackson shared details on legislation that’s up for discussion. We followed that up with KOLR’s Joe Murano to talk about all things brackets.

At the 10:45 mark we headed to Alabama where workers at a Gospel radio station say they’ve been scammed out of thousands of dollars by a so-called church bishop. The Virginia man bought lots of air time but they say he never paid a dime. WZDX’s Renata Di Gregorio joined the conversation with a Newsfeed Now debut.

We stayed in Alabama at 15:30 with details on a weed van bust. A Weed World Candies van was pulled over on I-65 near Saraland and five people were arrested for possession of marijuana. The company tours the country as part of an effort to get marijuana and hemp legalized.

Our last stop at 19:30 into the show took us to Louisiana for a quack-a-thon! Did you know every day a half million kids and teens nationwide walk through the doors of the boys and girls clubs across the country. To help support, many chapters conduct a “running of the ducks” event where you can “adopt a duck.” KLFY’s Caroline Marcello joined the conversation with a look at the event in Lafayette.
