3,000 pounds of trash removed from La. beach

(Houma Today)- More than 3,000 pounds of trash was removed from Elmer’s Island by Nicholls State faculty, staff and students on Sept. 21, the university says.

As part of the Ocean Conservancy’s 33rd International Coastal Cleanup, 193 volunteers from Nicholls and other local organizations removed 3,800 pounds of debris from 2.3 miles of beach.
