UPDATE: Suspect in S. Magnolia Street standoff in custody

UPDATE:  The Lafayette Parish Marshal’s Office has confirmed that the standoff on S. Magnolia Street has ended and that the suspect is in custody.

According to Deputy Phil Conrad, 27 year old Zachary Kynard barricaded himself inside the home for over an hour.

Conrad said detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Marshal’s office entered the home where they made contact with the suspect and he was then taken into custody.

He said the standoff ended peacefully and that there were no injuries.

Kynard had multiple outstanding warrants.

ORIGINAL: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s are attempting to arrest a suspect wanted on a warrant. The suspect has barricaded himself inside a home at Pinhook and S. Magnolia.
