A candidate forum involving those seeking to represent the U.S. 3rd Congressional District of Louisiana is scheduled for today.
In collaboration with the Senior Pastoral Alliance of Southwest Louisiana, the Greater Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce and the 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette, a forum is scheduled for all seven candidates. Those vying for this position is incumbent Clay Higgins, Mildred “Mimi” Methvin, Larry Rader, Josh Guillory, Rob Anderson, Veron Thomas and Aaron Andrus. Carlos Harvin with 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette said he hopes this encourages people to get out and vote.
My hope is that the average voter who lives in Lafayette Parish would be able to hear the heart of these candidates. To hear their platform. To hear their vision. What direction do they want to take this community in? And they get to know their representatives,” said Harvin.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Clifton Chenier Center.
