19-year-old Cage Hanks of Rayne is facing several drug charges after police found 11 grams of marijuana inside his vehicle that was involved in a crash.
It happened Sunday morning when Rayne police responded to a two-vehicle crash on E Jeff Davis Avenue.
According to police, officers were consumed with the smell of marijuana while conducting the crash investigation and during a search of the vehicle located 11 grams of marijuana, 22 tablets of Alprazolam, 1.5 Hydrocodone tablets, 1 pint of promethazine with codeine and 7.6 grams of methamphetamine.
Police also located $943 in Hanks possession.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotic drugs listed in Schedule I; possession of marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, prohibited acts–schedule IV, prohibited acts–schedule II, prohibited acts–schedule V and prohibited acts–schedule IV.
Hanks is currently being held in the Acadia Parish Jail with a “hold” issued by the Louisiana Probation and Parole, police said.
