Suspect indicted on first degree rape of a juvenile charges in Acadia Parish

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY)- A Crowley man was indicted this week on two counts of first degree rape in Acadia Parish. 

The investigation began in 2018. According to the Crowley Police Department, the alleged crimes occurred between 2011 and 2013. 

Shannon Faucheux was indicted on first degree rape of a juvenile under the age of 13 in May 28, 2019.

An indictment was also filed in Vermillion Parish involving the same victim for multiple sexual assault offenses, police said. 

The suspect was later located at his residence in Youngsville where he was arrested by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies for the above offenses and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. 

Faucheux was later extradited to Acadia Parish on May 31, 2019. 

Shannon is currently being held and the Acadia Parish Jail. 

His bond was set by Judge Kristian Earles at $500,000.
