St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission names Herman Fuselier as new director

OPELOUSAS, La. (St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission)- The St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission has hired Herman Fuselier as its new Executive Director.

Fuselier, a St. Landry Parish native, accepted the offer following a two-month search process conducted by the Commission.

Herman will be filling the position held by Celeste D. Gomez, who announced her retirement in September. Gomez will leave her post of 21 years at the end of 2018.

Fuselier comes to the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission with years of experience as an internationally recognized journalist and radio host. He brings a wealth of knowledge dealing with the local music, food, culture and, most of all, the people of the parish.
All of these being the assets that have made St. Landry Parish an important component in the tourism industry for the State of Louisiana. “We are thrilled to have Herman as our new Executive Director and know that he will do a wonderful job in representing the entire parish”, commented Suzanne LaHaye, current President of the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission.
In his capacity as Executive Director of the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the parish, Fuselier will lead a staff of seven and oversee the operations of the St. Landry Parish Visitor Information Center.
He is married to Beth Manuel Fuselier and has two sons and one step-son. He and his family reside in Opelousas, Louisiana.
