LAFAYETTE, La. (Leigh Guidry/The Advertiser)- This is your friendly reminder that it’s graduation week and traffic is coming.
This year Lafayette Parish high school graduations will be a little different.
After years of doing most of them in one day at the Cajundome, the ceremonies are being split between two days — this Friday and Saturday.
Plus, South Louisiana Community College and its Early College Academy will hold commencements Thursday, also at the Cajundome.
Parking: The Administrative Parking Lot at Gate 13 will be reserved for handicap vehicles. Graduates and faculty members can enter at Gate 11 to access parking behind the Convention Center and CAJUNDOME.
The West Parking Lot at Gate 8 will be available to the General Public. Additional public parking will be available at Cajun Field on both Friday and Saturday. Additional parking and complimentary shuttle transportation will be available on Saturday only at designated parking locations found on the map below and include Fraternity and Sorority row parking lots, UL REC Field Parking lot on Coliseum Road, the lot at the corner of Coliseum and St Landry St, Blackham Coliseum, and the UL REC Center parking lots on CAJUNDOME Boulevard.
For guests unable to attend graduation at the CAJUNDOME, all graduation ceremonies will be live streamed online. Visit www.cajundome.com and view the graduation event page for the viewing links. Options to purchase a digital copy of each graduation ceremony are also available on the CAJUNDOME website.
