Rams-Bears game hurricane relief fundraiser

Carencro and Acadiana High School meet on the field in a crosstown rival game. The fans attending tonight‘s game will collect money to benefit those impacted by hurricane Florence.

This game is one of the biggest rival games in Lafayette Parish but when it comes to helping, Acadiana area residents, throw the rivalry tag out the window.
Tonight, before the contest at Bill Dotson Stadium both Carencro and Acadiana fans will collect donations for the Cajun Navy who are already in the Carolinas providing relief to the residence affected by hurricane Florence.
rams head coach Matt McCullough says Acadiana knows what it’s like to deal with a hurricane and it’s nice to help when we can.

“Before the game we are going to take up a collection and the donations will go or a portion of the donations to help the Cajun Navy in their effort to help in the recovery efforts,” McCullough. “We all know what it’s like to be affected by hurricane and we’re happy to help.”
