A student at Opelousas High School was charged with battery Monday after allegedly striking the school’s principal.
Opelousas Police say it happened around 1 p.m. as the principal, Myron Spencer, was attempting to get the student to go back to class.
Police say the student became combative and committed a battery on principal.
The administrator did not receive any medical treatment on scene, police say.
The student was charged and then released to the custody of his parents.
