  • The Lafayette Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Saturday night that left a Lafayette boxer dead. The suspect is still on the run.
  • Lafayette police are also investigating a weekend shooting that left two people injured. The incident happened early Saturday morning in the parking lot of a Lafayette business.
  • Two suspects are in jail after a shooting on Friday in Broussard. The incident occurred when officers were trying to serve an eviction. 
  • Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced that the Buchanan street parking garage in downtown Lafayette has closed indefinitely due to safety concerns. Drivers will now park at the Vermilion Street parking garage. 
  • In honor of October being pregnancy  and infant loss awareness month, Maddie’s Footprints, a Lafayette based non-profit is holding it’s annual 5k run this weekend to continue supporting families in need. 
  • President Trump gave a wide ranging interview to 60 minutes that aired last night. Among some of the issues he touched on, he told Lesley Stahl that Saudi Arabia would face severe punishment if it was involved in the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.​​​​​​ Saudi Arabia is threatening to retaliate if President Trump imposes any sanctions related to Khashoggi. The kingdom denies any involvement in the journalists disappearance.
  • More than five days after hurricane Michael slammed the Florida Panhandle — an untold number of people are still unaccounted for. Crews are still searching Mexico beach, which was devastated by the category four storm.
  • and Kensington Palace confirms Meghan Markle….The Duchess of Sussex…..is pregnant with her first child. Markle married Prince Harry five months ago at Windsor castle.
