LPD: More than $60,000 in illegal drugs seized in city limits

LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY)-  The Lafayette Police’s Tactical Narcotics Team is touting the seizure of $60,000 worth of illegal drugs.

The drug enforcement team, nicknamed TNT, “is made up of highly trained and motivated investigators who specialize in reducing drug trafficking and drug-related crimes by enforcing the controlled substance laws of Louisiana,” the department said. 

Last week, TNT, with the assistance of a patrol officer, recovered more than 247 grams of marijuana, 26 grams of heroin, 418 grams of powdered cocaine, 200 ml of Promethazine, THC oil, MDMA and crack cocaine from the streets of Lafayette making 24 arrests, the department said.

The seizure reportedly amounted to more than $60,000.

“TNT will continue the fight against illegal drug activity within the city,” LPD said on is Facebook page.
