Local cook off to benefit families of Marksville children killed in Florida crash

VILLE PLATTE, La.. (KLFY)- A pork cook off is set for Saturday, Feb. 9, at Chicot State Park.

The event was created to benefit for families of five Avoyelles Parish children killed in a vehicle crash in Florida on January 3. The families are members of Avoyelles House of Mercy in Marksville. 

Team entry is $25. Teams can cook whatever dish they choose as long as pork is the main ingredient. 

Individual entry is $5. The cook off will begin at 10 a.m. 

Hot dogs, soft drinks and water will also be available for purchase. 

The cook off winner will be selected by people’s choice, which the ticket is covered in your entry fee.
