Governor John Bel Edwards and state lawmakers are preparing for another special session to try and close the budget gap.
The special session begins Tuesday, May 22.
Before the session, the governor will be in the Hub City to speak to Louisiana residents.
Edwards will be in Lafayette to deliver an address instead of speaking to the joint legislature.
He will speak from the earl k long gym on the campus of UL Lafayette. That’s one of the colleges in the state that could face cuts.
The governor will make his remarks at 1 p.m. right before the special session is set to begin.
We will livestream the governor’s address on our website.
