  • Two people have been reported dead following a tornado that touched down in Ruston early this morning. There are also reports of damage to the campus of Louisiana Tech.
  • Lafayette police need your help identifing a suspect connected to the shooting at Church’s Chicken on North University. If you recognize this man and vehicle call Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
  • Five juveniles have been arrested in Opelousas in connection to a string of burglaries. They have been charged with simple burglary and were released to their guardians.
  • 40 year old Jessica Olds is facing charges after authorities say she became combative and committed battery on two nurses at a local hospital.
  • A local vape shop owner say he opposes a bill in the works, that would change the legal age to purchase tobacco products in the state, to 21. He believes it could lead to a black market of sorts for tobacco products.
  • A school district among the top ranking in the state says student attendance does have an impact on test scoring. Attendance has to be a priority for students to get the instruction they need to excel.
  • A New Orleans teenager has been accepted to 115 colleges and universities across the nation. She also received over three million dollars in scholarships.
