  • A 22 year old man is in the hospital after being shot at a boxing event promoting nonviolence. The victims mother says he was shot four times and will need surgery. Lafayette police are still searching for a suspect.
  • Tonight, the third annual Robideaux Report will take place at the Heymann Performing Arts center. Lafayette’s mayor-president will give his address at 6pm.
  • New Orleans mayor Latoya Cantrell was in Lafayette Wednesday to meet with Acadiana lawmakers about legislation that would allow New Orleans to renegotiate the amount of tax money it sends to state tourism commissions.
  • Lawmakers will debate a proposal that will give school teachers a pay raise and give school districts their first spending increase in years.
  • SLCC will hold a career and transfer fair at their Opelousas campus today. Over 30 employers will be on hand to meet with prospective employees.
