  • A New Iberia home was damaged by fire overnight. Several fire departments were called to extinguish the fire. there is no word on if there were any injuries.
  • A bank robbery suspect was arrested after demanding money from an Iberia Bank clerk using a note. The suspect is in jail on a $500,000 bond.
  • Jeanerette city Alderman voted in February to compensate volunteer firefighters for responding to emergency calls. Three new volunteers have been added to their roster since the compensation plan started his month.
  • The LSU Tigers will take on the Yale Bulldogs later this morning during the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament. The Tigers are doing so while their head coach is suspended.
