FOUND: Missing 12-year-old found after media push alerts

UPDATE: Missing 12-year-old Ariel Morgado has been located and is safe, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.

"Thanks to the news media and the push alerts, neighbors came out of their homes and began looking for Ariel and he was located." Sheriff Spokesperson John Mowell. 

ORIGINAL: The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office would like the public’s help to locate a missing 12-year-old near Fox Run in Lafayette.

Ariel Morgado is described as a Hispanic male about 4’8” tall, weighing roughly 90-100lbs.

Capt. John Mowell said Morgado was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. Monday wearing black shoes, grey pants and a black shirt.

"We believe that he is on foot and in the area of Fox Fun," Mowell said.  "He has no medical issues that we are aware of, but he is 12 years old and alone and this is dangerous."
