A cold front has passed in Acadiana this Monday morning leading to a cold and breezy morning. Wind chills are pushing into the 30s for much of the area. Monday will stay cold and breezy with a high only around 55°. As the front starts to lift back to the north, rain chances will increase this evening with scattered showers likely tonight into Tuesday. Starting tomorrow, an active stretch of weather is expected with high rain chances each day. Rainfall could be heavy at times. Fortunately, estimated rainfall totals are 2-4″ inches over a 5-7 day period. I don’t expect widespread flash flooding problems but there could be isolated issues later this week as the ground becomes more saturated. Also, after today and tonight the weather will turn much warmer with high temps back in the 70s.
