2 killed in tornado in Lincoln Parish

2 people have died when a tornado hit a house in Lincoln Parish. 

Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone  confirmed  the 2 deaths early Thursday morning.

Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone said the fatalities occurred in a house near the Pizza Hut restaurant just off of Interstate 20.

Stone said emergency personnel haven’t been able to recover the bodies of the victims because it’s too dangerous.

Also a Tornado hit the Louisiana Tech campus.  

University President Les Guice says classes are being cancelled in order for school officials to assess the damage done to the campus from the tornado early Thursday morning.

Strong winds have knocked down power lines at Louisiana Tech University.

A confirmed tornado also caused damage as it busted out windows and created severe damage to the campus itself including the baseball field.

Governor John Bel Edwards also has tweeted about the deaths.

“The teams @GOHSEP, @LAStatePolice and @LANationalGuard are assisting local responders following a tornado in Ruston this morning that has killed two people. Our prayers are with the people of Ruston today.”
