Lafayette man indicted in March murder of his father

A Lafayette man has been indicted by a Lafayette Parish grand jury in connection with the March, 2019 homicide of his father.

According to the Lafayette Parish District Attorney’s Office, 31-year-old Ernest Jack White III was indicted Wednesday for the first-degree murder of  68-year-old Ernest White Jr. 

White Jr. was found shot to death inside his home March 17 on Edison Street. 

At the time of his arrest White was found in violation of a protective order, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number

White was granted bond in the amount of $500,000.
