Comedian Kevin Hart has reportedly stepped down as Oscars host after public outrage from past tweets exhibiting ‘anti-gay’ comments. Hart released a statement on Twitter Thursday night announcing his decision to refrain from hosting the event and says “I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.” He continues to say that he is “evolving and will continue to do so” and that his goal is to “bring people together not tear us apart.”
One tweet in 2011, Hart posted “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.” And in a different tweet in 2009 he writes “I just saw a ***** put a whole chicken wing in his mouth and pull it out with no meat on it!!!!!! God **** that was gay”.
