Crowley student makes vacation out of competing in Scripps National Spelling Bee

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY)—A Crowley student had quite a week, he competed in the national spelling bee competition and got to check out historical monuments in the nation’s capital.

Michael Goss, is a student at St. Michael Catholic School in Crowley.

He qualified for the national spelling bee by winning a handful of spelling competitions, including placing first at the district level.

His classmates and teacher, Miss Patti Guidry cheered him on as he went to Washington D.C. for the competitions.

Michael made it past the first round but was eliminated in the second.
