2 suspects arrested for shooting in New Iberia

On Monday, authorities arrested two suspects who are believed to be responsible for a shooting in the 800 block of Bank St. in New Iberia.

Terrell Charles (17) was charged with attempted first degree murder and principal to the attempted murder and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.  Detectives arrested a second suspect identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile.  Detectives charged the juvenile with five counts of attempted murder and transported him to Assumption Parish Juvenile Detention Center.

An argument was said to have taken place between the two suspects and two males and a female.  According to one of the suspects, one of the males approached them and pulled out a knife threatening them.  Peters then began firing shots from a handgun at the victims striking one of the victims in the foot.  The male victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The suspects the fled the area on foot and were later apprehended near the area where the incident occurred.
