Wanted fugitive captured after brief foot chase in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Authorities arrest a wanted fugitive after what they say was a brief foot chase.

Authorities with the Lafayette Marshal’s Office and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, tell KLFY that officials have apprehended a wanted fugitive.

News 10 is told that as deputies arrived at a residence in the 200 block of North Wilderness Trail to arrest Francis on a warrant, the suspect fled on foot.

Lenorris Frances was captured after what authorities say was a brief pursuit on North Wilderness Trail.

Francis was apprehended without further incident according to officials.

The fugitive was transported and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following warrants:

  • Bench warrant fail to appear for probation hearing for theft.
  • Regular warrant switched, altered, revoked or suspended license plate.
  • Expired motor vehicle inspection sticker.
  • No driver’s license in possession.
