A Vinton man was killed after a single-vehicle crash early this morning.
State Police responded to the scene just after 2:00 a.m. on U.S. Highway 90 near Mack Road, which is west of Vinton.
Investigators say that Adam Vice, 22, was driving a 2014 Honda Accord westbound on U.S. 90 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline, veered off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Vinton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was critically injured.
He was transported to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
Sgt. James Anderson says State Police Troop D have investigated 16 fatal crashes so far this year, which have resulted in 16 deaths.
