WEST MONROE, La. (News Star)- A West Monroe man who allegedly left the scene of a crash before entering a restaurant and ordering beer is facing multiple charges, including a second DWI.

According to an arrest report filed late Monday, David Omary, age 42, was driving under a suspended driver’s license from a previous driving while intoxicated charge when the accident happened.

A witness saw Omary turn off of Well Road from the center lane versus the turn lane and later strike a vehicle in front of Cracker Barrel. He continued on from the scene until reaching Buffalo Wild Wings.

When the trooper arrived, the witness pointed out the suspect. He had entered the restaurant, placed an order and was sitting at the bar with a beer.

The trooper said Omary appeared surprised to learn he was involved in a crash.

Per the report, Omary performed poorly on field sobriety tests and submitted a breath sample of 0.164 percent at Ouachita Correctional Center. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Omary was booked on charges of second offense DWI, driving with a suspended license, hit and run and improper right turn.

Bail was set at $8,900. He posted bond on Wednesday.
