Lawmakers cleared out of the state capitol Monday evening after a fire alarm was triggered mid-session.
Officials said they exited the chambers inside the capitol building after the alarm was triggered shortly before 6 p.m.
An Associated Press reporter says the alarm and subsequent evacuation were instigated by a smokey smell coming from the area of the cafeteria.
It’s unclear what was the source of the smell.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
