SULPHUR, La. (AP) – Louisiana police have shot and wounded a man accused in Alabama of shooting at a district attorney’s investigator.
Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coats said Wednesday that when 35-year-old Cody Glenn Light of Arab, Alabama, ignored an officer’s order and raised a gun Tuesday, the officer shot him in the neck.
He says Light had crashed two stolen vehicles during a chase, and a truck stolen in Texas was found earlier in a canal.
Light was hospitalized. News outlets report that he faces charges of robbery, assault, home invasion and property damage in Louisiana.
Police say he’s wanted in Alabama on charges including attempted murder of a police officer.
Louisiana State Police are investigating the shooting in Sulphur.
