United Way of Acadiana’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has been hosting Tax Super days.
At each of these events, they are able to help 40-60 people.
Brittany O-Hara, specialty project manager of United Way, said, ” We have about 12 volunteers working to file your taxes.”
This program put approximately $8 million back in the hands of hardworking families through free tax preparation assistance, within the last two years. Volunteers assisted more than 5,800 Acadiana residents in filing their taxes.
The doors opened at 9 am Saturday, February 16, and unfortunately had to close by 10:30.
O-Hara said, “We want to be able to give you the time that we need to correctly file, so it’s important to come early to these events.”
If you missed today’s events there will be several more here in Lafayette.
