Waldon says he always knew he wanted to work in the medical field.
Because of his wife’s encouragement and persistence, he became an EMT at Acadian Ambulance.
“My wife’s the one who actually guided me to Acadian. so she signed me up for an information session which I started school at the national EMS academy in Alexandria. From there I got hired and I work out of Ville Platte on unit 53,” Waldon says.
Jerret Dunlap of Alexandria was recognized as Louisiana’s paramedic of the year at today’s ceremony.
