Victim identified in MLK Center shooting; 2 suspects arrested

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Two arrests have been made in the shooting death at the Martin Luther King Center Wednesday evening.

Jamal Lacon and Raven Wiltz were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on 2nd Degree Murder charges.

Police have also identified the victim in the shooting.

According to Corporal Paul Mouton, Desmond Boutte, 22, of Lafayette died in the Center’s parking lot in the 300 block of Cora Street.

Police are still investigating the motive behind this shooting.
