KAPLAN, La. (KLFY) Kaplan High School will be closed Thursday due to a city-wide power outage.

In a message posted of social media, Kaplan High announced the closure and said all after school events will depend on if the power returns.

Residents say they lost power late afternoon on Wednesday when a rainstorm gripped the city.

No word yet on if utility crews have begun any power restoration.
