UPDATE: A 36-year-old woman is facing charges for allegedly making threats at a Lafayette middle school.
On Monday morning at approximately 7 a.m., a Lafayette Police school resource officer was notified of bomb threat and a female trespassing on a school campus located in the 1400 block of S. Orange Street.
The bomb threat was found to be false, however, a search was conducted of the campus to confirm, Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said.
Naeema A. Ahmed, of Lafayette, was arrested for criminal trespassing and terrorizing.
ORIGINAL: Lafayette Police investigated a possible bomb threat at a middle school.
Early Monday morning, police responded to Paul Breaux Middle School.
School officials say an adult female entered the Paul Breaux campus around 6:30 a.m. She did not make entry into any of the buildings.
They say after being intercepted by the staff, police and fire officials were called to the school. A search of the school was conducted and shortly there after authorties gave the “all clear” sign.
Students returned to class around 8:15 a.m.
Police did take the female suspect into custody.
