UPDATE: One of two suspected wanted for Broussard attempted murder arrested

BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE: On Thursday January 24, 2019, Jaylon Harrison turned himself in at the Broussard Police Department. He was arrested without incident on the aforementioned warrants.  Joseph Jackson is still at large. The Broussard Police Department wants to thank all of the agencies that are actively assisting with this investigation.

ORIGINAL: Two suspects have been identified in an attempted homicide and robbery on Dec. 5, 2018, police said.

Joseph Jackson is wanted on two counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of attempted first degree murder.

Jaylon Harrison is wanted on the same charges. 

A victim was hospitalized for a gunshot wounds after at attempted burglary on Dec. 5. The crime is considered drug-related, Broussard Police said. 

While inside of a parked vehicle on Alley 2, a suspect approached the passenger side window brandishing an assault-style rifle, police said. Simultaneously, the rear-passenger brandished a silver semi-automatic handgun where a struggle ensued, police said. 

The victim was shot once in the arm and once in the leg with a handgun by the back-seat suspect and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the Broussard Police Department said.

“These suspects are also wanted for other violent crimes by other agencies, so please contact your local agency or Crime Stoppers ASAP if you know the whereabouts of these suspects,” Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou said. 

Callers can remain anonymous, 337) 837-6259.  Anyone harboring either of these two individuals will be arrested, Decou said.
