JUST IN: I-10 westbound from Baton Rouge to Lafayette will remain closed overnight and into the morning while vehicles are cleared.
UPDATE: State troopers say all passenger vehicles have been turned around and rerouted out of the westbound lane of I-10 near Whiskey Bay.
As of 10 P.M., state troopers say some larger 18-wheelers were still in traffic, working to turn around and leave the crash site. Since I-10 Eastbound is being used to reroute those vehicles, portions of both Eastbound and Westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed.

The multi-vehicle crash happened on the Westbound side of I-10 near Whiskey Bay on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.
State Troopers say it all started with a single Camaro which lost control driving westbound on I-10.
Authorities say two trucks collided behind the Camaro, one carrying logs, the other a highly flammable, and explosive pollutant. At least two other vehicles crashed behind them.
Traffic heading west was initially backed up for three miles.
Authorities closed the interstate from Baton Rouge to Lafayette, turning the trapped drivers around on both ends and rerouting other commuters to Highway 190 which connects Baton Rouge to Opelousas.
Fireman and other emergency responders drove east in the westbound to get as close as they could to the accident.
As of 10 P.M., we’ve been told I-10 Eastbound should be open soon. It is being used for vehicles to leave the scene of the accident.
